Love INC, at the crossroads of the Church and the Community

 

WHAT IS LOVE INC?

Love In the Name of Christ of Worthington is a ministry of 18 local churches working together to help neighbors in need.  It's a way for churches to work together in coordinated ways to serve our community. Needs could be as simple as providing a ride to a medical appointment for someone without transportation.  While more in depth needs, such as a job lost, Love INC comes alongside the family struggling with overdue bills by connecting them with both resources and people.  So whatever the need, give us a call and see how we may be of assistance.

GAP MINISTRIES

As Love INC identifies gaps in available services that callers are requesting, we then work with our partner churches to create new ministries to fill those gaps. To date, nine "Gap Ministries" have been developed: 

  • Baby Clothes (NB-3T)

  • Bed & Bath Linens

  • Bunk Beds

  • Furniture

  • Household Cleaning Items

  • Kitchen Supplies

  • Laundry & Dish Soap

  • Personal Care Items

  • Winter Clothing

  • Ride Ministry

Gap Ministries create a new set of resources previously unavailable in our community. These resources are then accessed through the Love INC Helpline.

THE PROCESS

The Helpline is how Love INC connects local individuals in need with resources.  The Love INC Helpline is a clearinghouse for community resources.  Caring phone volunteers listen to the needs of callers, determine what help has already been received, and offer prayers.  Then, after verifying the information given, Love INC searches our database of resources and refers individuals to the most appropriate ones.  These resources might include church ministries, community agencies, or individual church volunteers.  After help is received, Love INC follows up to see how things are going.
